Made to serve: 1-2
Scale:
Ingredients
- 6 oz fresh crab meat, picked clean
- 6 oz shrimp, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 TBS finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1 TBS lime juice
- 1 tsp Salted Perfection Lime Zest Finishing Salt
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 20 round dumpling wrappers
- 1 TBS vegetable oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine crab meat, chopped shrimp, cilantro, ginger, garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, and Salted Perfection Lime Zest Finishing Salt. Mix gently but thoroughly — you want the flavors to marry like a good family reunion.
- Lay out a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tsp of filling into the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water to help seal.
- Fold the wrapper in half over the filling, pressing edges tightly to seal. Pleat the edges if you’re feeling fancy — it’s all about that grip, no leaks, no mess.
- Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling. You should get about 20 dumplings.
- Line a 8-inch round steamer basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Arrange dumplings inside, leaving space so they don’t stick together.
- Bring 2 inches of water to a boil in a wok or large pot. Place steamer basket over the boiling water, cover, and steam for 8-10 minutes until dumplings are plump and filling is cooked through.
- Carefully remove the basket, brush dumplings lightly with vegetable oil to give ‘em that shine and prevent sticking.
- Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Remember, a good dip is like a good alibi — it seals the deal.
