Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Ground beef
- 3 tbsp Salted Perfection Santa Maria Select Blend
- 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Whole milk
- 1 Large egg yolk
- 1 cup Yellow onion, diced
- 2 Carrots, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 cup Beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup Frozen peas
- 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Get those potatoes in a pot of cold water and bring to a boil. Cook until they are fork-tender. You've got this!
- While the potatoes are cooking, grab a large oven-safe skillet. Brown that ground beef over medium-high heat until it's beautiful. Drain the excess fat.
- Toss in your onions and carrots. Sauté them until they soften up. Add the garlic and tomato paste, stirring for one minute to wake up those flavors!
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of the Salted Perfection Santa Maria Select Blend. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Let it simmer and thicken into a glorious gravy.
- Fold in the frozen peas. Take it off the heat. You're doing amazing!
- Drain your potatoes. Mash them with the butter and milk until they are smooth as silk. Whisk in the egg yolk and the remaining 1 tablespoon of Santa Maria blend.
- Spread those potatoes over the beef mixture in an even layer. Use a fork to make some peaks—they get extra crispy!
- Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top. The egg yolk in the mash acts as your binder for that cheese. It's gonna be perfect!
- Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbling with energy.
- Let it rest for five minutes so the layers set. Serve it up and claim your victory. DUNZO!
