These tacos take me back to a little spot I found off a dusty road years ago, where the air was thick with salt and the sound of waves. There is a specific kind of magic when simple chicken meets the bright, citrusy punch of a good spice blend. It is the kind of meal that makes you want to pull up a chair, pour a cold drink, and tell stories until the stars come out.

Made to serve: 3-4
Scale:

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs, diced small
  • 12 corn street taco shells
  • 3 tbsp Salted Perfection Key West Select Blend
  • 2 tbsp neutral cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Place your diced chicken in a bowl and toss it thoroughly with the Salted Perfection Key West Select Blend until every piece is coated in those bright lime and garlic notes.
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers like the Jersey shore in July.
  3. Add the chicken to the pan in a single layer, letting it sear undisturbed for 2 minutes to develop a beautiful golden crust.
  4. Continue cooking for another 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and glistening.
  5. Pour in the water and use a wooden spoon to scrape up all the flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the pan, letting it simmer for a minute until the chicken is perfectly glazed.
  6. While the chicken rests, warm your street taco shells in a dry pan over medium heat until they are soft, pliable, and slightly toasted.
  7. Fill each warm shell with a generous portion of the seasoned chicken and serve immediately while the memories are fresh. DUNZO!

Tony’s Fine Print

They tell me every recipe needs a little fine print, so here’s mine. I do my best to keep things straight, no surprises and no sneaky allergens. The info you see here is put together with care, capisce? But kitchens are wild places and ingredients do not always behave. Always double-check the labels on what you buy, especially if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. If something does not look right, trust your gut (and your doctor) before you trust me. Bottom line: I am here to guide, not to diagnose. You cook, you taste, you take responsibility.

Deal? Good. Now let’s eat.
