Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 3 TBS avocado oil
  • 1 medium shallot, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 TBS grated fresh ginger
  • 2 TBS tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 1 TSP chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 TBS rice vinegar
  • 3 tsp Salted Perfection South Beach Select Blend
  • 1 small cucumber, julienned
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated and rinsed
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons avocado oil. Toss in the diced shallot, garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until fragrant and golden, about 1-2 minutes. This is where the flavor bombs start, capisce?
  2. Add the ground pork to the skillet. Break it up with a wooden spoon and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if you want, but hey, a little fat’s the flavor of life.
  3. Stir in tamari, chili garlic sauce, rice vinegar, and 3 teaspoons Salted Perfection South Beach Select Blend. Mix well and simmer on low heat for 2 more minutes to marry those flavors like a perfect family reunion.
  4. While the pork simmers, prep your fresh veggies: julienne cucumber and carrot, slice green onions, and pluck some cilantro leaves. These add the crunch and brightness that’ll make your taste buds sing.
  5. To assemble, lay a butter lettuce leaf flat, spoon a generous amount of the spicy pork mixture into the center, and top with cucumber, carrot, green onions, and cilantro. Squeeze a wedge of lime over the top for that fresh zing.
  6. Serve immediately and watch your guests devour these like they just hit the jackpot at the family Sunday dinner. Remember, good food is like a good story: it sticks with you.

Tony’s Fine Print

They tell me every recipe needs a little fine print, so here’s mine. I do my best to keep things straight, no surprises and no sneaky allergens. The info you see here is put together with care, capisce? But kitchens are wild places and ingredients do not always behave. Always double-check the labels on what you buy, especially if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. If something does not look right, trust your gut (and your doctor) before you trust me. Bottom line: I am here to guide, not to diagnose. You cook, you taste, you take responsibility.

Deal? Good. Now let’s eat.
